Tampa General Hospital’s Intensive Care Units include 143 beds and Trauma, Neuroscience, Surgical, Medical, Vascular Cardiothoracic, Coronary Care, Burn, Pediatrics and Neonatal Units. TGH has received disease-specific certification from The Joint Commission for heart failure and ventricular assist device (advanced certification).
The ARNP/PA will work as part of an inter-professional team to provide care to adults and older adults with acute, critical and complex chronic physical illnesses for the cardiothoracic surgical service. This will involve the management of patient’s pre- and post-cardiothoracic surgery including heart and lung transplant, ECMO, and mechanical circulatory support devices. Responsibilities will comprise providing the full spectrum of care for acute and critically ill patients, performing bedside procedures, participating in the education of the inter-professional team, and a focus on driving quality improvement and patient satisfaction metrics. Additional responsibilities include maintaining an annual protocol with a supervising physician, as required by state professional regulatory agencies; and performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Requirements include a current FL Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or PA license and previous ICU experience. For ARNPs, Acute Care or Adult Gerontology certification is preferred. Recent experience as an ARNP/PA in CV Surgery or Critical Care with cardiac experience is preferred.
