Provides daily supervisory responsibilities for Cardiology Services which includes the Cardiac Cath Lab, Non-Invasive Cardiology Services (NICS) and Post Cardiac Intensive Unit (PCIU) and personnel assigned to the Cardiac Cath/NICS/PCIU area. Primary responsibilities include scheduling of personnel (daily and on-call schedules), assure the coordination of daily work flow, implement processes to improve and facilitate efficient room turnover, coordinate the assignment of inpatient beds for patients seen in the Cath Lab/NICS Department, and assures open and timely communication with physicians concerning procedure start times, anticipated delays, etc. Assists in the orientation and performance evaluation processes for employees in the Cath Lab/NICS departments.
Graduation from an accredited Nursing required. Bachelor's Degree Required.
Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Texas, as well as BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association. Current Certification in specialized nursing discipline preferred (CCRN, CERN, CORN, etc.)
Knowledge of the use of various types of Fluoroscopic and Cardiology equipment, that include, but are not limited to single and bi-plane imaging systems, Cath Lab monitoring equipment, 3-D mapping/navigation system, intracardiac ultrasound, ablation generators/stimulators. Proficiency with the use of personal computers, Microsoft office software, and the Hospital Information System will also be required.
