The Department of Surgery at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons is accepting applications for a clinical faculty position. An Assistant or Associate Professor level, academic abdominal organ transplant surgeon is wanted for the Kidney/Pancreas and Liver Transplant Programs at Columbia University/New York-Presbyterian. Academic/Research interests should include one or more of the following: organ preservation, immunology, outcomes or surgical oncology.
The Kidney/Pancreas Transplant program is a full service program, that performs over 200 adult and pediatric kidney transplants per year. Transplants are roughly evenly split between living and deceased donor transplants. In addition, the pancreas program performs 10-15 pancreas transplants annually.
The Liver Transplant & Hepatobiliary Surgery Program performs over 130 liver transplants and 150 HPB procedures, annually. This includes more than 75 hepatectomies, of which over 40% are performed laparoscopically or robotically.
Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities will include patient care; active participation in the education of fellows, residents and medical students; participation in clinical and/or basic research; participation in our compliance program; and participation in QAPI programs.
Candidates must have completed an ASTS approved fellowship, be board certified in appropriate sub-specialty, and must be eligible to be licensed and practice in the State of New York.
