Perform under the responsibility and supervision or collaboration of the physician diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to allow the physician to extend his services through the more effective and efficient use of his knowledge in a sphere of decision making required to establish a diagnosis and to plan appropriate therapy. May assist in gathering the data necessary in implementing the therapeutic plan of the physician.
This position is for inpatient care of oncology patients as well as malignant hematology patients including allo and auto stem cell transplant patients. Current work schedule is Monday-Sunday from 7A-7P. 1 week on and 1 week off. Night shift every third month. Previous hospitalist medicine or hem/onc experience preferred. Reports clinically to the Chair, Cancer Institute, Regional Director, and/or assigned supervising physician. This position will include weekend and night rotation.
