The Director of Orthopedics & Joint Replacement will perform total joint procedures as part of a busy private practice and work collaboratively with other surgeons, developing a prestigious Total Joint Program, and more...in a location which will embrace this specialization. Resources are readily available to successfully support this endeavor. The position reports to the chairman of surgery.
The ideal candidate will be a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with three to five years of experience working independently in orthopedics, including joint replacement and general orthopedics surgical procedures, and trained in the latest techniques, including the anterior approach for joint replacement. The successful candidate must qualify/possess an unrestricted New York state medical license and must possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school.

RUMC is in the process of the construction of a new emergency department project and campus rejuvenation project, including resident housing upgrades, new physical therapy areas, additional cardiac rehab services and a new co-generation plant focusing on fuel efficiency, conservation of resources and reduced emissions. RUMC is also a teaching center for over 170 residents and fellows, with programs offered in internal medicine, ob/gyn, pediatrics, radiology, behavioral health and podiatry. The surgical residency program is part of the SUNY Downstate integrated program. Fellowship programs are offered for nephrology, hematology/oncology, gastroenterology, cardiology and minimally invasive surgery.
