Florida Hospital for Children seeks to hire a Pediatric Nurse Specialist who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
Florida Hospital for Children Profile
Since opening our doors in 1908, Florida Hospital has offered one of the most comprehensive children’s health programs in Central Florida. Today, we continue this legacy of pediatric excellence at the Magnet® recognized Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children.
Our campus is home to 212 pediatric beds, 135 pediatric sub-specialties led by a team of 700+ nurses and physicians. We provide specialized care in various state-of-the-art settings, including an 81-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with private family-centered rooms, an Advanced Center for Pediatric Surgery handling nearly 4,000 cases each year, and one of the few pediatric oncology programs in the area. We’re also Central Florida’s only pediatric provider for bone marrow transplant, kidney transplant, Gamma Knife services, trilogy radiation and Level III epilepsy care. But perhaps most exciting of all, is that this is the first-and only-hospital to bear the Disney® name.
Florida Hospital for Children, with greater than 200 beds, serves as a destination hospital for many specialties including neonatal care, pediatric cardiology, pediatric intensive care, renal and GI, and endocrine disorders, neurology, oncology, bone marrow transplant, cardiac intensive care, orthopedics, surgical care and medical diagnoses such as asthma.
We have over 135 highly skilled pediatric specialists who have dedicated their lives to helping children of all ages regain their health and maintain wellness. At their disposal are some of the most advanced technologies, therapies and treatments available. We lead the way, not only in our approach to healthcare, but in research as well, finding new methods for treating children so we can improve outcomes. Our Professional Practice Model is centered around patient and family centered care. The role of the Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist is to provide leadership and clinical expertise in the management and care for our pediatric patients primarily in the medical surgical area. Responsibilities include facilitating best practices to enhance outcomes, as well as to set nursing policy and standard operating procedures. We recently received our first Magnet redesignation and value the role of the CNS in leading nursing practice.
