Assistant Professor of Medicine Tenure Track - Department of Medicine / Division of Digestive & Liver Diseases
The Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases at Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a full-time transplant hepatologist interested in pursuing a tenure track research position at Columbia University. The candidate should be Board-eligible/certified in Gastroenterology /Hepatology and Transplant Hepatology. Liver transplant experience is preferred but new graduates should feel free to apply. The candidate must have demonstrated research acumen and have a history of obtaining independent funding. Ideal candidates will also possess superior clinical, teaching and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to expanding the research mission of the division and will dedicate the majority of their time to developing independent projects and working with collaborating scientists. This individual will be expected to devote a majority of their clinical time to transplant hepatology with clinical responsibilities to include attending on the inpatient hepatology service, outpatient hepatology clinics and the performance of GI procedures. The duties of this position include: Research/Education/Administrative: 75%, Clinical up to 25%.
Requirements
Qualifications
MD degree or equivalent.
Board certified/board eligible in Gastroenterology /Hepatology and Transplant Hepatology.
Eligible to be licensed to practice in the States of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Successful completion of ACGME approved fellowships in in transplant hepatology and gastroenterology.
