AdventHealth Orlando seeks to hire a Registered Nurse who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year.
Our Vascular Thoracic unit is located on the 4th floor of the Ginsburg Tower and is truly a unique unit. It is a Beacon Award Winning, 40 bed, post-surgical unit that specializes in the care of vascular surgeries, general surgeries, and abdominal transplant patients (kidney, pancreas and livers). 20 beds, known as the Vascular Care Unit (VCU), are designated PCU. The patient population here is predominately vascular. We see patients both pre-op and post op from surgeries such as fem-pop bypasses, carotid endarterectomies, and amputations. The remaining 20 beds are Vascular Transplant ICU (VTICU). This area serves critically ill patients that have either had a vascular surgery, general abdominal surgery, or abdominal organ transplant (kidney, liver, pancreas). The VTICU is unique in that it uses a surgical intensivist-model, in which 2 of our unit's dedicated general surgeons split their time between operating and facilitating multidisciplinary rounds. Having a designated unit intensivist allows for timely, high quality supportive care of the critically ill. Our nurses and physicians collaborate to provide excellent patient care and ensure optimal patient outcomes. We strongly believe in team work, professionalism, and extending the healing ministry of Christ. Our active and strong Nurse Practice Council work to engage the staff and have an excellent working relationship with the Vascular & Transplant Surgeons.
