The new Director of Infection Prevention will have the opportunity to:
Join a highly talented, collegial and dynamic leadership team, serving as the subject matter expert, mentor and guide in all matters related to the hospital’s Infection Control program;
Direct the relentless pursuit of Best Practices in Infection Prevention, continually raising the bar and challenging the status quo to achieve exceptional results;
Report directly to the Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer and work closely with the Chief, Division of Infectious Diseases, Physicians, Surgeons, Leaders and the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute clinicians and staff;
Conduct research in Infection Control and implement new policies, procedures, protocols and training programs;
Collaborate nationally and locally with industry leaders, organizations, hospitals and the community to ensure that the organization’s current and future Infection Control needs are anticipated and met;
Foster exceptional communications and relationships throughout the system to ensure teamwork, engagement and continued exceptional results; and,
Requirements include a Masters Degree in a related field, 7+ years of Infection Prevention leadership experience, current Certification by the National Certification Board (CIC) and an expert level knowledge of TJC, CDC, OSHA and related regulatory standards. (Candidates who have a RN license and experience with epidemiology are encouraged to apply.)
