The Phoenix VA Health Care System (PVAHCS) Anesthesia Service is looking for one, Not-to-Exceed 1 year, Anesthesiologist for the Phoenix VA main facility. Clinical duties include but are not limited to: Initial evaluation and overall workups, and focused history & physicals of medical/surgical patients as needed. Operating room (experience with breath of anesthesia techniques), in-patient rounds, clinic sessions and supervising nurse anesthetists. Perform a wide variety of anesthesia procedures in the OR and non- OR (NORA) including endotracheal intubation, laryngeal mask airway, and fiber-optic intubations. NORA procedures may be performed in GI Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, Broncgoscopy Lab, Interventional Radiology (IR), and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR). Participate in all surgical quality/performance improvement initiatives as appropriate, including VASQIP. Responsible for providing patients with education concerning their disease state and expected treatment regimen. Responsible for appropriate pre-operative risk assessment either primarily or in conjunction with house staff assessments. Participate on committees and will also be required to have an active license in one of the United States. Work effectively with patients and coworkers and will treat other health care professionals and patients' family with respect and dignity. Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm, 7:00am to 3:30pm, or 7:30am to 4:00pm, (May be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 Full-Time Physician) Recruitment/Relocation Incentives: No Compressed/Flexible: No Virtual: No EDRP: No Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
