The Orlando VA Medical Center is seeking a Deputy Chief of Radiology. The successful candidate will join our expanding group of radiologists at the Orlando VA Medical Center at Lake Nona. As one of the busiest clinics in the nation, our outpatient service performs over 200,000 procedures each year. The Department consists of the Lake Nona facility with three additional outpatient sites at Baldwin Park in Orlando; Viera and Daytona Beach. The Deputy Chief position comes with both clinical and administrative roles. Some major duties of the position include: Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of personnel Assist with inquiries and investigations from Congress, White House, VA central office, OIG and credentialing bodies Participates as a member of facility wide committees dealing with matters involving patient care, peer review, and quality improvement, as assigned Demonstrates interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills that establish and maintain professional relationships with other professionals, whether they are reports, peers or supervisors. Provides direct patient care in his/her specialty area approximately 40% of the time Is well versed in all basic areas of diagnostic radiology and can participate in general radiology rotations Works to impart an expectation of individual sacrifice for the good of the veterans served by the imaging department Our staff is nearly 100% fellowship trained with subspecialty practice in Neuroradiology, Breast Imaging, Abdominopelvic Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. Although we strive to maintain clinical excellence, prior experience with research and education are valued and desired as our relationships with University of Central Florida School of Medicine matures. Radiologists across all subspecialties are expected to participate in General Radiology (consisting of radiography, ultrasound and fluoroscopy); take part in after-hours call based from home; and participate in educational activities including intradepartmental and multidisciplinary conferences (currently in conjunction with the Departments of Oncology, Pulmonology, Rheumatology and Hepatology).
