The Corporal Michael J Crescenz Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting for an Endrocrinlogist to care for our Veterans. Duties / Functions The candidate will provide comprehensive care to Veterans with diabetes mellitus, obesity, male hypogonadism, osteoporosis, and disorders of the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands in the endocrine clinic and inpatient consult settings at Philadelphia VAMC. The position offers an opportunity to provide gender affirming hormone treatment and deliver state-of-the-art care to transgender Veterans. Upon receipt of a teaching appointment at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, the candidate will provide clinical and didactic teaching to endocrinology fellows at the VA. Active participation in educational venues such as noon report for house staff and medical students is also encouraged. Specialized Knowledge Required by the Position: The incumbent shall be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to complete the duties of the position including that necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Such knowledge and skills are identified in the Competence Assessment Checklist of the position and include knowledge and skills in: Communication and interpersonal relations, including the ability to appropriately and courteously relate to internal and external customers Maintenance of confidentiality of patients/employee information, electronic and printed The Medical Center performance improvement program Work Schedule: Typical tour of duty is Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, though weekends and nightshifts may be required if Veteran needs arise. Work Environment: Primary work assignment will be the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz Veterans Medical Center. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
