Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City, a principal teaching affiliate of University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine, is currently seeking a BC/BE transplant hepatologist for its expanding liver transplant program. The liver transplant program at Saint Luke’s Hospital was established in November 2011 and achieved Medicare approval in its second year of operation.
The position will work in collaboration with an experienced team of three transplant hepatologists and four transplant surgeons. Transplant Hepatologists share in the responsibility for patient selection conferences, liver transplant clinic, liver disease management, satellite clinic development, and outreach efforts. This position will be mainly clinical oriented with academic opportunities through clinical and research, as well as faculty appointment, at University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine are available.
The successful candidate must have completed an accredited Transplant Hepatology Fellowship and have or be eligible for Missouri and Kansas medical licenses. Ideal candidates will have strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills. They should be articulate, approachable, and collaborative both with internal and external constituents.
