Shift: 5x8hrs – 6:00am – 2:30pm / 4x10hrs – 6:00am – 4:30pm / 3x12hr – 6:00am – 6:30pm. Shared call requirements

The role you’ll contribute:
Registered Nurse: This specifically trained nurse is responsible for participation in the surgical suite to function in the role of Circulator and assist the surgeon in performing surgical procedures. The RN Circulator has knowledge of instrumentation, sterile technique, and in following of AORN guidelines during the care of the surgical patient. The RN Circulator maintains a safe surgical environment during the perioperative course. Responsibilities include the planning, administering and/or supervising of the nursing activities during the Perioperative and intraoperative care of the patient. The RN Circulator is responsible to adhere to the Adventist Health System Corporate Compliance Plan, and to all the rules and regulations of applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Assists in any other tasks directed by the specialty coordinator/charge or manager of the CVOR. The RN may be assigned to the scrub role or second assistant based on level of training and experience.
Certified Surgical Tech: Actively participates in the preparation and management of supply inventories, surgical equipment, operating room suite readiness and clinical/technical assistance as directed while performing operative and invasive procedures. This position requires knowledge of surgical instrumentation, the ability to prepare and or assemble complex mechanical devices, sequential planning, and knowledge of fundamental anatomy, strong anticipatory skills and dexterity. This position is also responsible to keep abreast of new products, procedures and physician techniques. The surgical technologist supports Surgical, CVOR and GI services to provide an effective and safe patient/staff environment. All activities associated with the role of the surgical technologist are under the direct supervision of the perioperative registered nurse and operating surgeon
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Registered Nurses:
- Must be proficient in the English language
- Current registered nurse license with the Florida State Board of Examiners.
- One to two years general nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Two to three years in a required specialty; CVOR, OR, or Cath Lab preferred
- Perioperative Nursing preferred
Certified Surgical Tech:
- Must be proficient in the English language
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Successful completion of an accredited school for Surgical Technology
- Certification as Surgical Technician
