Description

The UAB Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology seeks to hire for an assistant or associate professor (tenure earning/non-tenure earning). Currently, the UAB Liver Center has five hepatologist with expertise and extramural funding in acute liver failure, cirrhosis, NAFLD, viral hepatitis and porphyria. Academic rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with experience. Excellent opportunity for teaching, patient care and collaborative multidisciplinary clinical and translational research. On average, the Liver Transplant team has performed 110 liver transplants annually over the past seven years. It is the only liver transplant program in the State and has a one-year survival rate of 96%. Excellent start up package available. 



Requirements

Board certified, board eligible or a trained hepatologist; UNOS certification in transplant hepatology a plus; strong clinical skills in hepatology and transplantation with a genuine interest in teaching and research in an academic setting.
