Stead Family Department of Pediatrics
University of Iowa Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks a Gastroenterologist. Appointment rank is open and may be to either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. Appointment rank to Instructor of Pediatrics (non-tenure or clinical track) may also be considered. The individual selected will join the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Pancreatology and Nutrition to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services as a pediatric gastroenterologist. The Division has 10 other faculty engaged in clinical and basic science research, teaching and a full range of clinical activities, a well-established ACGME-accredited fellowship program, a strong collaboration with Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Radiology, Pediatric Urology, Pediatric Anesthesia and a variety of other ancillary services.
Requirements:
Must hold a MD/DO degree, or equivalent
Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics, or equivalent
Board certified or eligible Pediatric Gastroenterology
License or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa
Demonstrated commitment to promoting a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment
Desirable qualifications:
Expertise in pediatric gastroenterology
Experience in patient-oriented research
Teaching competence in pediatrics for medical students and residents
Evidence of scholarly activity
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

The UI Stead Family Department of Pediatrics comprises the medical staff of UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital, Iowa’s only nationally ranked children’s hospital and home to the state’s only accredited Level 1 Regional Resource Pediatric Trauma Center. The ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program at UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital trains 47 pediatric resident physicians. University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital is the only hospital in Iowa to be nationally ranked for children’s care by the U.S. News and World Report. Inpatient care and endoscopic procedures are provided at the brand new 190-bed State-of-the art Children’s Hospital. A newly renovated outpatient clinic has opened in August 2017.
